Trinity Products supplies various grades of Marine and Offshore steel plate. Marine and Offshore steel plate grades have increased strength, toughness and enhanced weldability. Trinity Products is a world-class supplier of offshore and marine quality steel plate to customers across various industries including barge and ship building, oil rig fabrication, and other offshore structures.
Marine Grade Steel is a type of structural alloy steel which is standardized by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for specific use in the ship building industry. This group of alloy steel is engineered to be stronger and able to withstand harsh marine conditions. ABS steels are produced as Ordinary-Strength and two levels of Higher-Strength specifications. Ordinary-Strength ABS steel is produced in various grades including, ABS Grades A, B, D and E. Higher-Strength ABS Steel is produced in six grades of two different strengths including ABS Grades AH32, DH32, EH32, AH36, DH36 and EH36.
Off-Shore Grade Steel is a type of structural alloy steel which is standardized by the American Petroleum Institute (API) for specific use in the welded construction of marine and offshore structures. This group of alloy steel is engineered for high yield strength and improved fatigue load performance. The refined chemistries provide excellent welding characteristics and secondary heat treatment(s) offer reduced residual stress, increased ductility and improved notch toughness. API grades are produced in both the Normalized condition as API 2H-50 and Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Process (TMCP) as API 2W-50.
Marine and Offshore Grades of steel are produced and certified in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS), and American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications.
