H-Piles are dimensionally square-structural beams designed for deep foundation applications. Where other pilings would struggle to penetrate, H-Piles can be driven deep into the ground to reach the necessary soil properties to support buildings and bridges. In addition, these bearing piles are commonly used for marine applications, earth retention, secant pile walls, soldier piles, and a number of various other applications.
We stock domestically produced H-Pile in a variety of sizes and lengths, making it readily available for your project needs. Mill rollings are also available, which includes access to lengths well over 100 feet.
Trinity Products has provided approx. 1,400 tons of caissons and piles for this project. Trinity Products has also fabricated much of the needed false work (2600 tons of steel). We have just completed the Kentucky side false work and started the Indiana side, to be completed by September 2015.
The purpose of the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project is to increase cross-river mobility by improving safety, alleviating traffic congestion and connecting highways. The project will stimulate the economy of the entire Louisville-Southern Indiana region. According to the Federal Highway Administration’s Record of Decision, to meet these needs two crossings are necessary – one in the downtown area and one eight miles upstream in the metro area’s growing East End.
The East End Crossing project, currently under construction by WVB East End Partners, will connect the east end of Louisville, near Prospect, to southern Indiana, near Utica. The Kentucky approach to the new bridge will extend I-265 (the Gene Snyder Freeway, also known as KY 841) from its current termination at U.S. 42 to the bridge, adding a new, four-lane (two northbound, two southbound) 1.4-mile section. The Indiana approach also will be a four-lane section, and will extend SR 265 (the Lee Hamilton Highway) four miles – from its current termination at SR 62 to the bridge.
The East End Crossing will provide several very specific benefits to the Louisville and Southern Indiana area, including convenient access for area residents commuting between eastern Jefferson County and southern Indiana. And for travelers passing through the Louisville area from the north or south, the East End Crossing is an alternate (and very accessible) route that bypasses the urban traffic of downtown Louisville.
The spud barge was hit by another barge on the river and damaged the spuds. Budrovich Marine contracted Trinity Products to replace the two 80’ long spuds with a very short lead time.
The team in our shop nicknamed it the Spud Missile.
